… Yesterdays festivities hit a speed bump when Facebook over flowed with "OMG!!"'s telling us that Amy Winehouse had been found dead in her London flat. Now, as troubled as she was I am pretty disgusted that all I've been reading on a number of different blogs are references of the drug induced mayhem that she seemed to attract.
The fact that she has died allows her a little bit of respect and the chance to be remembered for something else. I'll remember her for the fashion icon that she became and the trends that she has left behind. How many times a day do you see a woman walking down the street with a beehive and headscarf? That's her doing..
Amy brought us the perfect go to summer outfit – A block coloured vest with a floral mini skirt and a healthy dose of accessories… gotta love it.
So instead of looking back at what she did wrong, and paid the ultimate price for, lets look back on her successes in life. Her amazing voice, that will continue to bring happiness to us (my all time favourite version of "Will you still love me tomorrow?" is by Amy Winehouse…it's on repeat right now, and her sense of fashion that got her noticed.
My thoughts go out to her friends and family.
